ACCESSING THE PROGRAM

How can I find out more about what is available at my company?


New Moms’ Healthy Returns is considered an employee benefit. Connect with your Human Resources or Benefits team to find out what resources are available to you.




My partner recently had a baby and is breastfeeding. Is she able to access the program since I am an employee or is the program only for new moms that are employees of my company?


New Moms’ Healthy Returns supports employees and their families. The program is customizable to each employer’s needs, so please reach out to your Human Resources team to find out what aspects of this program are available to you and your family.




My company doesn’t have this program yet. How can I share information about it?


Thank you for your interest in New Moms’ Healthy Returns. On the web page, select “For Parents” tab in the top right navigation bar. There you will find a resource that includes a letter and information about New Moms’ Healthy Returns that you can share with your employer.




I’ve presented this solution to my employer and they do not want to/ cannot implement this program. What should I do?


Don’t give up hope! It may not be the right time for your business to implement a new benefit program. We understand that employers are under pressure to retain valuable talent while managing or reducing costs. How long do I have access to this breastfeeding support program?


The New Moms’ Healthy Returns program is designed to make it easier for new moms return to work after baby. Offering products and space solutions, these items would support you through your breast milk feeding journey. If your employer offers the 24/7 Virtual Support powered by Pacify, the program is available to employees and their partners from pregnancy through the first year of baby’s life.




When is the best time to talk to my employer about this program?


If you are expecting or are currently breast milk feeding at work, this program is designed to make it easier for you to balance your career and provide breast milk to your baby. There you will find a resource that includes a letter and information about New Moms’ Healthy Returns that you can share with your employer.




Am I able to access the program prenatally or do I have to wait to return to work first?


Certain aspects of New Moms’ Healthy Returns are available before baby arrives, like the 24/7 Virtual Support, but most of the offerings available through this program are designed to support your breastfeeding success when you return to work after baby. Contact your employer to find out what benefits are available to you through your company.




Do I have access to customer service if I need help with the pod or breast pump?


If you have questions about your Medela products, you can call Medela customer service at 800-435-8316. Call center hours are Monday thru Friday 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. CST. You can also visit MedelaBreastfeedingUS.com to chat our team 24 hours a day, 5 days a week and until 12:00 p.m. CT Saturdays. If you have questions or concerns about a Mamava pod, you may find an answer here. You can also call the help number listed on the pod, contact Mamava through the Mamava app or call 802-307-2111 to speak with someone directly, Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. CT. www.mamava.com/faq.

Am I eligible for any discounts on breastfeeding supplies?


There is no cost to employees for the New Moms’ Healthy Returns program. If you have access to New Moms’ Healthy Returns through your employer, you may have access to Medela products. Connect with your Human Resources or Benefits team to find out what is available to you.




Can you share more information about breast milk shipping?


Through New Moms’ Healthy Returns, employers can make it easy for working moms to get their breast milk home from anywhere in the world when they travel for business. Moms can choose the solution that works best for getting their milk back home to baby. Medela will be sharing more specific details about this soon.




How do I access the 24/7 Virtual Support? What type of support is given through this service?


The 24/7 Virtual Support is powered by Pacify. To access, download the Pacify app and sign up using the unique code located on the back of your Pacify card, provided to you by your employer. Once your account is set up, you can make a call to connect with an expert directly through the app. The 24/7 Virtual Support feature gives you access to obstetricians, pediatricians, pediatric nurses, registered dieticians, and lactation consultants. You can call whenever you need advice from an expert about:

  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Latching
  • Pumping
  • Fevers
  • Rashes
  • Crying/colic
  • Teething
  • Sleeping
  • Earaches
  • Poop
  • Picky eating
  • Sore nipples




How do I access the Mamava pod?


You can access the Mamava pod in your workspace through the Mamava app or with the designated key code provided to you by your employer. If you are having trouble accessing the pod, check out the Mamava FAQs or call the help number listed on the pod.




What breastfeeding pump and supplies will be available onsite at my employer?


If your employer offers New Moms’ Healthy Returns to its employees, you may have access to Medela products. Connect with your Human Resources or Benefits team to find out what is available to you.




My office doesn’t have a dedicated breastfeeding space, how do I get one?


Having a designated space for employees to pump breast milk at work is a requirement for most employers. The conversation with your employer is an important part of your return-to-work transition after baby – and we can help.

So glad you reached out for help. If your employer provides the New Moms Healthy Returns program, you may have access to 24/7 Virtual Support powered by Pacify. Contact your Human Resources or Benefits team to find out what is available to you. Outside of this program, Medela has a lot of resources designed to support you through your breast milk feeding journey:

  • Get in-the-moment access to clinical lactation support with 24/7 LC, which offers instant access to live lactation consultants at your fingertips. Month-long membership is included or discounted with the purchase of Medela double electric breast pumps, and membership plans are also available in 1-, 3- and 12-month increments. How do I prepare to return to work?


Great question! The transition back to work after baby doesn’t have to be complicated – but it does help to have a plan! Here are a few resources to help you get ready:

Which app do I use when?


The New Moms’ Healthy Returns programs has a few app-based resources to encourage your breastfeeding journey at work.

  • For access to Mamava lacation pods, use the Mamava app (unless your employer has designated an alternative access method).
  • To access the 24/7 Virtual Support powered by Pacify, you must download and set up your account and input the unique code provided by your employer to access the service.




Will my employer or insurance company have access to the information I enter in the app? How will my privacy be protected?


Using the 24/7 Virtual Support service powered by Pacify is a personal experience, and your consultations with experts are private. You can choose whether or not to share aggregate data about your interactions with your company (so they can understand program usage). You will be asked to create a Pacify account to use the service. Pacify meets all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
